Testimonials

“Our experience with the Anderson & O’Brien law firm began after I was in a serious automobile accident. We contacted the firm and were put in touch with Attorney Rich Fuller. From that day on, we knew we were in good hands. My injuries were so severe that I had to have two surgeries to fuse my cervical spine. Ultimately our case went to a jury trial. Rich and his team were amazing. They were all thorough, professional, and knowledgeable. Rich included us in every aspect of the case right from the beginning. Rich always had time to explain what was happening or answer any of our many questions. It was clearly important to him that we always knew what was happening and what to expect. His communication was exceptional through ALL stages of the process over the five years we worked with him. We were always a part of the team. I cannot describe how thankful we are to Rich for the personal sacrifices he made in order to help us ultimately win our case.”    E.P.

“Attorney Fuller represented us in a Personal Injury case that took five years to work through the system. In addition to his excellent understanding of the law, he is an effective litigator and was able to secure for us a substantial verdict that will cover future medical expenses. What I found refreshing about our interaction with Attorney Fuller is his demeanor. He always treated us with respect, was candid on expectations, communicated effectively and worked diligently on the case for five years. I would recommend him to anyone involved in a Personal Injury case.”    J.P.

“Attorney Fuller represented me in a Personal Injury case. It was amazing how well Attorney Fuller could identity what were my needs and concerns. I had a motorcycle accident and this resulted in a broken back and back surgery. I remember my first meeting with Attorney Fuller: I was experiencing pain, fear, confusion, and made the statement “I do not know why I am here nor do I know what questions to ask you.” He was so understanding and reassured me he was available to assist me through this experience. He was never pushy-quite the contrary-very understanding and very patient. Our first several meeting were short and sweet as he was aware of the discomfort I felt. Gradually we were able to meet for longer periods of time. He showed compassion with every meeting. He was truly concerned about my health and welfare. He made suggestions but always gave me the option to make the final decisions.
He has professional integrity. He would explain to me what I did not understand until I understood what was being said. I never felt rushed and never felt like I was many of his clients-he treated me individually in a very respectful and professional manner. He is a very patient man. He is a very humble man. He is not the Attorney who is doing this as a job for his personal gain-he is doing this job cause he wants to do what is right. He was always prepared and I never felt I had to review my case with him because he had forgotten who I was. He reviewed the past, dealt with the present and prepared me for the future. Thank you Attorney Fuller.”
    G.I.

“In my case Attorney Fuller and the Anderson Firm demonstrated several skill sets a person in my position needed.  Additionally, Fuller is empathetic and understanding to the situations I was going through for the duration of my case.  He was highly knowledgeable of civil auto accident law and was always timely in keeping me apprised of what was going on, along with creating and filing court documents. If I had questions, he returned my calls personally and answered my long list of questions. If I was not able to communicate with calls, we were able to use email for ease.  The best decision I made, was to seek counsel with Attorney Richard Fuller.  He and his staff were more organized than I in keeping everything straight and fully understood what was needed legally during my recovery and took excellent notes in the details of my individual scenario, and reviewed the boxes and boxes of medical records in detail to prepare for ultimate settlement in this case.  After a five-year battle with opposing counsel and insurances, he never gave up to help me and he and the firm were able to obtain a fair settlement for me. Fuller was also willing to take my case to Jury trial if I wanted to go farther and have a jury decide.  There was no doubt in my mind, he had my best interest at heart, understood my injuries and suffering over the recovery period and dealing with other multiple facets to my case. His prior experience provided much knowledge and from that he provided fair recommendations and was thorough in explaining the processes and what was or was not helpful during all legal processes.  I thank Attorney Fuller and the Anderson Law Firm as well as the detail of their staff in keeping everything straight. Their diligence removed some of the stress I was going through as there was less to worry about and provided me time to focus on me and healing.”  M.L.

“We went to Anderson & O’Brien Law firm after I slipped and fell on some ice outside of a restaurant one winter and seriously fractured my ankle. My ankle had to be surgically repaired with a metal plate and lots of screws. My brother-in-law, who is an attorney in Florida, told us that we needed an attorney and recommended them to us. Fortunately, due to Attorney Fuller’s knowledge and experience we were able to reach a satisfactory settlement out of court. He was very good at explaining everything every step of the way so that we were able to make good decisions on how to proceed through each process. Because of his care and concern, we felt like he was an old family friend and not just our attorney. We are very grateful for all his and his team’s hard work. We would highly recommend him and his firm to anyone who is in need of an attorney.”  C.N.

“I just recently settled my personal injury claim for more than I had expected, without going to trial. My attorney, Rich Fuller, made that happen. Four years ago, I suffered serious injuries that required a 4 hour surgery, 4 days in hospital and then 2 months in a skilled nursing facility, followed by almost a year of recovery at home.
When you’re in the early stages of recovery, it can be hard to think about anything but the pain and getting the help you need right then. A friend visiting in my early days in the nursing home said, “If you decide you want to take legal action against the person who did this, I can recommend a good lawyer who did well for me.” At the time, I wasn’t sure if I wanted a lawyer.
Then I got a letter from the insurance company of the person who caused my injuries, asking me to call them and tell them how I was doing. I was drugged up for pain, and I knew it would not be good to call and probably have my call recorded. I decided instead to contact the lawyer my friend had recommended, Rich Fuller, at Anderson, O’Brien in Stevens Point. Rich visited and listened to my story, and he explained how he could help. It felt good to have Rich on my side. He took care of all the paperwork to start legal action and to answer questions from Medicare and my insurance company. He arranged for video depositions on Zoom and prepared me for the questions I would have to answer. Then he worked with the lawyer for the defendant’s insurance company to set up a mediation session on Zoom. That mediation session did not bring us an acceptable settlement, but several months later, we got another offer, and the negotiations resumed. Rich was a great negotiator, and I was very happy with the amount of the final settlement. We were able to achieve this without going to trial.
Throughout this entire process, I felt that Rich was my partner in our quest for a fair settlement. It was easy and comfortable to work with Rich, and he took care of all the details that would have confused and stressed me out. He listened to my concerns and answered my questions. Without his work on my behalf, I would have had nothing. With his hard work and support, we settled my claim in a way that felt fair, and even generous.
Pursuing a personal injury claim is a daunting process, even more so at a time when you are injured and vulnerable. It’s important to have a lawyer you can trust. Rich Fuller was that for me, and I am delighted to share this testimonial with anyone having to make these difficult decisions.”

” I unfortunately had to go through a divorce and had no idea where to start. I had a few people tell me about Richard Fuller so I decided to take him on as my attorney. I couldn’t be happier with how the whole situation turned out. He’s a very kind and compassionate individual who made the whole process go a lot easier than I had anticipated. He worked hard in order to get everything finalized before the end of the previous year. If anyone else is in the unfortunate situation of having to go through a divorce, I highly recommend Mr. Fuller and his team. He made the process go about as easy as it possibly could.” S.C.

Daniel F. Schmeeckle

As a 2002 graduate of SPASH and Stevens Point native, Dan was thrilled to return to Central Wisconsin after graduating with honors from the University of Minnesota Law School. Dan began his career at the firm as a summer associate in 2009 and joined the firm as an associate in 2010.  After a few years at the firm, he spent two years in China working at large firms.  During his time abroad, he focused on complex matters of international commercial arbitration and litigation in relation to cross-border transactions.  In addition, he held adjunct positions with the China University of Political Science and Law, as well as the University of International Business and Economics, where he was a frequent lecturer on topics related to international litigation. This experience solidified his desire to return to Anderson O’Brien, LLP and focus on representing the people and businesses in Central Wisconsin.

To Dan, the firm’s slogan of “Lawyers where you live” resonates strongly.  At the time this law firm was forming in the 1880s, his great grandfather, Henry Reading, was finishing the last log drive on the Plover River, and his father was a pioneer of Stevens Point. Three generations of Dan’s family have built their homes in the same area.  Being deeply connected to this geographical area translates into being a better advocate for the people and businesses located here. He is passionate about the work he does and is committed to achieving the best possible outcome for every client.

In addition to his law practice, he serves as the sole community member on the Institutional Review Board at University of Wisconsin Stevens Point.  He has also previously volunteered with the Our Courts Wisconsin Program and has served on the Board of Directors of the Stevens Point Sculpture Club and the Ma-Kah Water for All Foundation.

Outside of the office, Dan can be found in the workshop building furniture.

Testimonials

“Dan offered sound guidance and assisted us in navigating the unfamiliar legal terrain. He demonstrated professionalism through his expertise of the subject matter and ability to instill trust. Dan was continually available to us throughout the process, and his actions were at all times motivated by our best interest. We highly regard Dan and would recommend him to anyone needing legal assistance.”    T. B.

“Having never worked with an attorney in any aspect of legal matters, I was hesitant to even move forward with legal counsel to try and recover damages for my injury. I felt very comfortable with Dan, he explained everything so that it was easy for me to understand, and kept me informed along the way on how my case was progressing. Dan is highly professional and very knowledgeable. I wouldn’t hesitate to contact him again if I needed any further legal advice.”   R. W.

“Attorney Dan Schmeekle’s case presentations are some of the very best I see. His communication is clear, concise, and extremely persuasive. His clients are well-served by his exceptional advocacy skills. Attorney Schmeekle rightfully enjoys the deep trust and respect of his clients. He capably handles difficult legal issues, is extremely competent and hard-working, and yet has a down-to-earth manner that makes him a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend Attorney Schmeekle to those looking for legal representation in central Wisconsin.”    Mediator John Hertz

“Daniel Schmeekle is one of the best attorneys I have ever worked with. He saves our company time and money again and again. He also is a great advisor as our company moves forward and grows. We couldn’t ask for a better law firm or attorney to represent us and help us get to the next level.”   Keaton Schultz

“It was a very good experience with Attorney Schmeeckle. He was good to work with and he explained everything. He is a very good listener. I liked the concern he had for me and my case. I am very happy with the outcome.”   K. K.

“My experience working with Attorney Schmeeckle was fantastic. I was in a lawsuit where it wasn’t my fault and he brought several arguments to the table that favored me incredibly. Before I retained Attorney Schmeeckle, I retained another lawyer firm in town where they said that the lawsuit was going to cost me $40,000 and it will probably take over a year and go to trial and that I should just look at what the plaintiff wants and accommodate him and make this all go away. They had no arguments or knowledge of any way to identify the law in my favor. When I came to Attorney Schmeeckle he was like a breath of fresh air. Right out of the gate he had half a dozen legal arguments and more ideas of what we should do!

Right away he actually discovered that I was entitled to have my case taken over by the title company lawyers for free and have free representation throughout the entire case so I only paid the small retainer fee and the other title company lawyers took over the case for free for the next 9 months and saved me thousands and thousands of dollars.

I was very impressed with how detailed and knowledgeable Attorney Schmeeckle was throughout the short time that I worked with him. He was very personal, listened and had great ideas every time we met or emailed. He knows the law and it showed! I would recommend to anyone who is seeking representation for real estate law to contact Attorney Schmeeckle. I promise you he will go to work for you and you’ll have the best representation you can possibly have and you won’t be disappointed.”   L. G.

“Attorney Schmeeckle, Richard and I want to thank you so much for your help in resolving the lot line problem we had with our neighbors. We were novices in something like this, never having to work with an attorney except for wills. You guided us through this with expertise and humor. You gave us clear explanations of what our options were and how to accomplish them. It also helped that you understood and sometimes shared the frustration we were put through. It helped keep us calm. Thank you! Like it or not, you are now our attorney of choice! Thank you again ” – Richard and Karen Olsen

“A colleague referred me to Anderson O’Brien following an auto collision. As a result of the accident, I had internal bleeding and needed to be airlifted to another hospital for lifesaving measures. A four month recovery followed. I had the pleasure of working with attorney Daniel Schmeeckle. Dan took the time to hear my story and provided compassion and sound advice. He navigated through the legalities taking the burden of communication with police, medical professionals and the various insurance companies involved. He celebrated my medical progress and recovery along the way and gave me perspective on the challenges I was facing. In the end, Dan was able to get a fair settlement that reflected the extent of my physical injury and emotional turmoil. So grateful to Dan and Anderson O’Brien for their compassion and guidance.” B.C.
